Our handmade Blue Crab coffee scoop is about 7 inches by 3,” in colorful ceramic. There is a raised crab detail in the center of the spoon and fish swim down the handle. The back is hand patterned in a cobalt blue brush pattern. Our line of decorative coffee scoops are the easiest way to start the day right. No more stumbling about pouring too much or too little out of the bag. One good scoop makes the pot just perfect to get you going in a good direction. Cheerful decor for all!
Makes a nice regional gift! Ahoy all seafood devotees. Especially those drawn to the salty, lip smacking bay crabs and shrimp steamed in Old Bay spices requiring a deep swig of beer after. Here is the very item to heft a generous portion of zip into the boiling pan of crustaceans (ok it is about a half a cup of what ever you scoop up.) Think of all the friends you have with beach houses or want a beach house. This is the perfect beach gift in either case. It is also cheaper than a beach house. There is also a fish shaped coffee scoop!
The Blue Crab coffee scoop is a basic half cup folk art kitchen tool.
I make each coffee scoop from slabs of clay that I cut to size. Next I imprint the handles and cup area by pressing in stamps I made into the soft clay. I shape each one, dry it to fire to bisque. After it cools I hand paint all the detail of the scoops. Each one truly is a piece of functional folk art. There is a hole in the handle so you may hang your scoop on the wall for display.
